 TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR FREE PRIZE DRAW

A CHANCE TO WIN TICKETS TO THE RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP (“RLWC”) FINALS

1.      Conditions of entry

1.1   This prize draw (the "Promotion") is only open to UK residents aged 18 years and over (proof of eligibility must be provided upon request), except: (a) employees and agents of the Promoter or its holding and subsidiary companies; (b) employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or (c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

1.2   By entering the Promotion, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. 

2.      The Promotion

2.1   The purpose of the Promotion is to nominate someone from your local Rugby League club that you consider to be a community rugby ‘hero’ (a “nominee”). This could be a person who has invested time and energy to community rugby in a volunteer capacity e.g. as a coach, chairperson, grounds person, fundraiser etc. but please note that all nominees must be 18 years old or over.

3.      How to enter

3.1   The Promotion is free to enter, however you will need access to the internet to enter the Promotion. 

3.2      All entries must be submitted online via https://vodafone-rugby.webflow.io/ 

3.3    In order to enter the Promotion, you must:

a)     Provide your name and email address (we will use this to let the Nominee know who has nominated them)

b)     Provide the First Name, Surname, email address, and contact number of your nominee, and confirm that the nominee is 18 years old or over.

c)      Enter the name, address, and telephone number of the Rugby league club that the nominee is affiliated with.

d)     Submit 500 characters (max) outlining why your nominee deserves to win the prize. 

3.4   The opening date for entries is 10.00 on 22/09/22 and the closing time/date for the Promotion is 23:59 on 18/10/22 (“Promotion Submission Period”). Entries received after this time will not be considered.

3.5   Only one entry per household is permitted.

3.6   The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully submitted due to equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server and/or computer hardware or software failure of any kind. 

4.      Winners

4.1   A shortlist of ten entries will be created by the prize administrator from all eligible entries based on the entries deemed to meet the criteria below. The nominees relating to the shortlisted entries will be contacted by the prize administrator via telephone and email between 19-21st October 2022. If nominees do not wish to take part in the competition, they will be disregarded, and a new shortlisted entry will be drawn. 

4.2   If you agree to take part in the competition and reach the shortlisting stage, you will be asked to submit a photo of yourself to feature on the shortlist competition page.

The competition winners will have gone above and beyond to support their local rugby league club. They’ll be unsung everyday heroes who deserve to be recognised and celebrated for their contribution.
They will be integral to the successful running of their club, providing essential logistical support, raising money, bringing refreshments to training, or simply providing good cheer when the score sheet isn’t going the club’s way.

4.3   One winner (the “Winner”) and three runners up (the “Runners Up”) will be judged by an independent panel of four judges nominated by the Promoter (the “Panel”). The Panel will select from the shortlisted entries submitted during the Promotion Submission Period. The Winner and Runners Up will be selected by the judges based on the entry deemed to meet the criteria noted above. The Panel’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into about the decision.

4.4   The Winner and Runners Up will be notified by email within 10 days of the Closing Date. To claim the prize, you must follow the details in the email setting out how to accept your prize. You must claim the prize within two (2) days (“Claim Period”) of receipt of the email from the Promoter. 

4.5   If you do not claim the prize during the Claim Period, your claim will become (a) invalid; and (b) the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected by the Panel from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.  The Panel will select another winner from all remaining eligible entries who will be contacted in accordance with the above.

4.6   The Prizes (detailed below) will be sent to the Winner and Runners Up by email by 13 November 2022. 

4.7   The Promoter is not responsible for any failure to contact you if you have provided incorrect personal details in the entry form.

5.      The Prize

5.1   The Winner will receive:

·       An invitation to a Captain’s Run training session. This session will take place on 18 November 2022. 

·       A pair of tickets to each of the Mens’, Womens’ and Wheelchair RLWC Finals taking place on 18 and 19 November 2022. This also includes 2 nights’ accommodation (Check-In on 18 November and Check-Out 20 November 2022) in a 4* central Manchester hotel (one (1) room in either a twin or double room), and any necessary economy fare public transport expenses– for travel within the UK and Northern Ireland.

·       New rugby equipment up to a value of £1,250 for the Rugby League club the winner is affiliated to.

·       A signed England RLWC 2021 jersey

·       A training session for children aged 9-12 years old to be held at the winner’s local rugby club. The session is organised by Vodafone and will take place in 2023. The training session will include rugby specific games, training drills and other activities. Coaches on the day will include a current or former England or Great Britain Rugby League Test International.

5.2   The three Runners Up will each receive: - 

·       New rugby equipment up to a value of £1,250 for the Rugby League club the runner up is affiliated to.

·       A pair of tickets to each of the Mens’, Womens’ and Wheelchair RLWC Finals taking place on 18 and 19 November 2022. This also includes 2 nights’ accommodation (Check-In on 18 November and Check-Out 20 November 2022) in a 4* central Manchester hotel (one (1) room in either a twin or double room), and any necessary economy fare public transport expenses – for travel within the UK and Northern Ireland.

·       A signed England RLWC 2021 jersey

5.3    The prizes awarded to the Winner and Runners Up are non-exchangeable, non- transferable, may not be re-sold and are subject to availability. The Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion to substitute any of the prizes set out in 5 above with a prize or item of equal value. No cash alternative is offered.

5.4   In the event that the RLWC Finals are cancelled, postponed and/or there are any limitations imposed on the number of live attendees at the relevant venue due to COVID-19 the following applies: (a) if the event is postponed, Vodafone shall endeavour to postpone the prize accordingly; (b) if the event is cancelled or there are limitations on the number of live attendees resulting in the winner not being able to attend the RLWC Finals, the Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion to offer the winner an alternative prize of reasonable equivalent value.

5.5   If you are a prize winner, the Promoter may publish (or make available to anyone on request) certain information, including your surname and county, to indicate that a valid award has taken place. You can object to this information being published or made available but, please note, your information may nevertheless be provided to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

5.6   By submitting an entry and in consideration of the Promoter granting a right to enter the Promotion, entrants agree to grant the Promoter a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to any materials contained in the entry (including but not limited to text, images or video materials) (the “Materials”) worldwide and/or to incorporate the Materials in other works in any media now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in the Materials. 

5.7   By submitting Materials to the competition, an entrant:

a.       warrants that the Materials are its own original work and that it has the right to make them available for all the purposes specified above; that it does not infringe any law; that it is not obscene or libellous; and that it does not violate the rights of any third party. 

b.       agrees to indemnify the Promoter against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred as a result of a breach of the above warranty. 

c.        agrees to waive any moral rights in the Materials for the purposes of its submission to, and publication by, the Promoter and the purposes specified above.

 

6.      Personal information

6.1   Any personal information provided to us during the entry process must be correct. We accept no responsibility for any incorrect personal information provided to us. 

6.2   Personal information will be processed by us in accordance with these terms and conditions and the Daily Mail privacy policy (available here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/article-1388040/Privacy-Policy-Cookies.html). 

6.3   Personal information that you share with us may be shared with the Promoter, in particular where your entry is shortlisted as a potential winner of the Promotion or where you have opted-in to receive direct marketing from the Promoter (if relevant). The Promoter will hold your personal information as a controller in accordance with its privacy policy (available here: https://www.vodafone.co.uk/privacy).

6.4   Where you submit personal information relating to other persons as a part of your entry into the Promotion, please let that person know and provide them with a copy of these terms and conditions. Please do not provide us with personal information relating to anyone under 18 years of age.

6.5   If you have any questions about how we or the Promoter will use personal information in connection with the Promotion, in the first instance please contact us using the details set out in the ‘How to contact us’ section of the Daily Mail privacy policy.

7.      General

7.1   The Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion to: (a) disqualify you if your conduct  is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition and to declare as void any or all of your claims or entries based on such conduct; (b) declare as void any claims or entries resulting from any printing, production and/or distribution errors (including but not limited to any error(s) on any website of the Promoter or other printed materials) or where there has been error(s) in any aspect of the preparation for or conduct of the Promotion materially affecting the result of the Promotion or the number of claimants or the value of claims; (c) cancel the Promotion or any part of it at any stage in the event of circumstances beyond the Promoter's reasonable control.

7.2   No entries will be accepted in bulk, from agents and/or from third parties.

7.3   To the fullest extent permitted by law (and subject to paragraph 7.4 below), the Promoter hereby excludes all warranties, representations, covenants and liabilities (whether express or implied) relating to this Promotion and/or the prizes.

7.4   Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the Promoter's liability for: (i) death or personal injury as a result of its negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

7.5   The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or cancel the Promotion should virus, bugs, tampering, fraud or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter corrupt or hinder the administration, security or proper play of the Promotion.

7.6   If any of the provisions set out in these terms and conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part that part shall be severed from the remainder of the provisions and the validity of the other provisions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.

7.7   These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
